Take off your grave clothes!

Hi friends, what are you allowing yourself  to be clothed  in?  Often times we clothe  ourselves with sorrow and sin. The Lord came to give us hope  and  eternal life.   However, we would rather wallow in self pity and sorrow  reflecting on the past and it's pain.  Remember when Jesus called Lazarus to come out of the grave?  He simply said "Lazarus come out".  Then Jesus instructed the people around him to take off  The grave clothes  that Lazarus was bound in. Keep in mind that Jesus is the  One who sets people free,  now  maybe you were not  in a grave  but you still feel bound  hy  Sin and shame. I  want to challenge you take off  your grave clothes! Don't try and do it in your own  effort  because  The Holy Spirit  has called you by name  and  will set you free  from what ever is binding you!  Whether it's an addiction  or your own brokenness  he is ready and waiting to see you come out and be set free  by his power and mercy! Remember friends every life is formed for his use!  Today's thoughts are taken from John 11:43&44

Facing Depression?

Hi friends,
Are you facing depression? It is a very real illness that needs to be addressed, not just swept under the rug. Admitting that you are struggling with depression is often the hardest yet most important step to  healing! I will be one out of many people to tell you that there is hope and help for you. I had my own battle with depression, beginning at age 8.  It is still a battle and at times I felt hopeless  and helpless… Those are two emotions that the human spirit cannot endure. I'd like to give you a few keys to overcoming what can seem so dark (1)  actively choose where you put your focus/thoughts. (2)  be willing to ask for help! I know this is hard for many of us, myself included. We have a tendency to think that asking for help makes us weak or inferior but the reality is if we let it build up it can tear our life and family apart. Finally, (3) one of the most  important steps to overcoming depression is finding hope. This world offers many things claiming to give hope,  but the reality is those things are temporary. I want to encourage you that there is hope beyond mundane life. Hope is found in the living God. It seems that  everything we try in our human effort only leads to despair, I speak from experience! I am not saying that you have to join a religion, but I highly suggest that you seek a relationship with God. His love will never leave us no matter how hard or trying things get. I have found that when I try and do things in my own effort, I fail. However, when I rely on God to be my strength I succeed! Remember friends every life is formed for his use!

Disadvantage or advantage?

Hi friends, have you ever felt  Less than  because of a disability? Or  maybe your parents told you you weren't worth anything. Well, I'm writing today because  where there is brokenness there is  also healing.  I remember as a child  I thought everyone else had it better than me, looking back I would rather have  cerebral palsy than  Live in a broken home.  What I saw as a disadvantage God turned into advantage! If  you are in a situation that seems broken beyond repair, don't give up  instead look up !  Getting back to the disadvantage versus advantage, you might think to yourself  my disability is a disadvantage :  I would like to challenge your perspective. Now, I am not saying that every person disabled or not  has to have a smile on their face 100% of the time that's not realistic because life happens  and can leave  us broken .  How do we  turn disadvantage into advantage? We put our wants and desires aside  and seek God in every circumstance  because  He can take the messiest of situations and make a masterpiece.   Don't let the world dictate where worth  comes from instead, choose  to be a miracle  for someone today! Right where you are. Remember that your circumstance  might not change  but, God's provision for you  in the midst of it far outweighs the pain we encounter!  Remember every life is formed for his use!
